DARKROOM
Dark Room is a room where industrial film loading & film development is done, a typical layout is shown above.
Every darkroom has a safe light in which all the above work is carried out (red light) called safe light.
How to check safe light is "safe" for work?
A simple method of checking illumination is to expose to the safe light a partially protected sample of the fastest film which is to be used in the darkroom, after a time of lapse equal to the maximum time needed for handling film, the test film should be run through the standard film developing procedure and check for greater density on the unprotected area of the film if it shows no density increase means the light is safe.
TANK MATERIAL-
For film processing we need tanks, Material of tanks are AISI 316 SS with 2-3% molybdenum.
SIZE OF TANKS-
Stop bath tank should be the same size as the developer tank, but the fixer tank should be at least twice as large and washing tank four times as large.

WHAT IS STEEL EQUIVALENT THICKNESS? (S.E.T.)
FOR EXAMPLE-
density of aluminium = 168ibs/ft3
and steel = 492ibs/ft3
ie set of aluminium is = density of aluminium/density of steel
= 168/492
= 0.34inch of steel
means 1inch thickness of aluminium is equal to 0.34-inch steel in terms of radiography.
SOURCE SIZE-
GAMMA RAY- 1.5MM TO 10MM
x-ray - 8x8mm to very small
