CALCULATE WELDING CONSUMABLE FOR A ITEM

HOW TO CALCULATE WELDING CONSUMABLE FOR Any  ITEM

CALCULATE WELDING CONSUMABLE FOR A ITEM

FORMULA FOR CALCULATION OF WELDING CONSUMABLE -

W = A x e x L X 1/E

A = cross-sectional area of weld metal deposited
e = density (7.8gr/cm3)
L = length of welding (cm)
E = deposition efficiency (n)           for SMAW- 0.55 to 0.80
                                                              MIG- 0.95
                                                           FCAW- 0.90
                                                             SAW-  1.0

FOR EXAMPLE A WELD OF L= 100 CM AND SINGLE V GROOVE AND ROOT FACE F= 3MM, ROOT GAP R= 2MM, BEVEL ANGLE 60 DEGRE, PLATE THICKNESS T=10MM
PROCESS = SMAW

Grouping system for steels

MATERIAL GROUP

Group system for steel

Group 1:

              Steels with a specified minimum yield strength ReH ≤ 461 N/mm2  a and with analysis in %: C ≤   0.24, Si ≤ 0.60, Mn ≤1.70, Mo ≤ 0.70b, S ≤ 0.045, Cu ≤ 0.40b, Ni ≤ 0.5b, Cr ≤ 0.3 (0.4 for castings) b, Nb ≤ 0.05, V ≤ 0.12b, Ti ≤ 0.05.

PROCEDURE FOR STORAGE OF WELDING CONSUMABLE

ELECTRODE STORAGE

COATED ELECTRODE

Store electrodes always in original reclosable cans and re-close the can after taking out the electrodes. Ultra Dry III vacuum packed electrodes can be used for approximately 6.1 hours after opening the packaging without re-drying; the atmospheric conditions must be ≤36°C and ≤91%RH.
When electrodes out of the original packaging are exposed for more than 8 hours to an atmosphere with a relative humidity of ≥61%, re-drying is recommended.
For electrodes with a yield ≥461MPa, the recommendation is a maximum of 2.5 times re-drying.

CE MARKING AND APPROVAL FOR WELDING CONSUMABLES
CE MARKING AND APPROVAL FOR WELDING CONSUMABLES

CE marking gives you the warranty that the goods are delivered within traceability and quality system that is witnessed by a notified body and confirms to the latest European standards (EN 13479). The CPD / CPR number enables the notified bodies to trace the final source of the product to make sure that the whole supply chain is controlled and full fills the latest EN rules.

Welding and NDT

WELDING AND NDT

WHY WE NEED NDT IN WELDING INSPECTION?
To find out welding defects in welding without destroying it is an NDT technique.

WELDING DEFECTS AND DISCONTINUITIES-
During the welding operation, many unavoidable volume changes occur that may cause
distortion, residual stresses or even cracking in the weldment. These changes are due largely to thermal expansion or contraction of the metal. If the rigidity of the structure Is high because of the stiffness of the members themselves, or support of previous welding or the use of fixtures, the amount of warping will be small. The forces set up by the weld contraction, however, will reach high levels by the time room temperature is reached. Cracking may result while the metal Is still hot or during cooling. Thus, the more highly con-strained the joint to be welded, the more plastic must be the weld metal that is used to complete the joint.
